"For two years, since the catharsis of his melancholic triumph of a demo, Pennsylvania-based rogue black metal artist KATABASILISK has been hermeted away, working on what will become his debut LP. Like the Sunset of Solemn Silhouettes demo before it, this new promo tape, dubbed Malefic Triptych, presents a three-pane view into the world which KATABASILISK for these past seven hundred days and thirty has wrought, and continues to work, to form and to manifest into wild creation.


The potency of this threefold new material is felt immediately upon its initiation. Like stepping through an obscure portal and emerging into another world entirely, Malefic Tryptich’s first track, “Intro/Waters of Sanguine Revenge,” swathes the listener in an arcanely unique analog atmosphere. In the thrall of this dark opening composition the listener remains steadfast until the burning orange fingers of “Glory’s Dawn” reach over the horizon, blinding, momentarily, with fiery hues of golden majesty, an embrace gilt in nostalgia for victories older than time itself. “The Oath of Seven Stars” then binds the myriad powers of KATABASILISK into one mighty and baleful epic, an exaltation of power achieved and unleashed.
